Enforced Disappearances:
In June 2025, a total of 95 cases of enforced disappearance were reported. Among these, 88 were first-time abductions, including one female and seven minors. The remaining 7 cases involved individuals who were abducted for a second time.
Modes of abduction:
The majority of enforced disappearances, 57 out of 95 cases, occurred through house raids conducted at night, showing how security forces target victims in their homes during vulnerable hours. Detentions, accounting for 20 cases, mostly occurred in public places such as bazaars, shops, or streets, indicating arrests during daily activities. Fifteen abductions happened at checkpoints, where individuals were stopped and taken, while 3 cases involved victims being summoned to camps, likely through coercion or deception. This pattern highlights the varied and pervasive tactics used to carry out enforced disappearances.
Perpetrators:
Out of the total cases, 65 were carried out by the Frontier Corps (FC), positioning them as the main perpetrators. Intelligence agencies were responsible for 25 cases, indicating a significant level of participation. The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) was involved in 5 cases.
Professions:
Of the 95 cases, 48 victims are unknown. Among the rest, students were the most affected group with 16 cases, followed by labourers and drivers with 8 each, and shopkeepers with 6. Other victims included individuals from various backgrounds, such as policemen, health workers, and businessmen, each making up a small portion.
Places of Abduction:
The highest number of abductions occurred in Kech with 32 cases, followed by Awaran with 12. Mastung and Gwadar each reported 9 cases. Other affected areas include Dera Bugti (6), Kalat (4), and several districts such as Quetta, Washuk, and Kharan, with 3 cases each.
