Baloch Human Rights Organization spokesperson, in a statement, strongly condemn the Quetta bomb blast which ripped through a vegetable market in Hazar Ganji, claimed 20 lives and left 43 injured. We extend our condolences to the families of victims of the Quetta bomb blast. For years, religious minorities in Balochistan have been repeatedly targeted which is appalling. He added.
Hazara community in Balochistan has been targeted by religious extremists for many years and they have been living in a state of perpetual threat. Targeting a vegetable market who is protected by forces is concerning and failure of government and security forces. Similarly, forced conversion of religious minorities in other parts of the country is shocking and condemnable.
The spokesperson further added that the sequel of military operations across Balochistan is continued with intensity. In the month of March 2019, sixty people were forcibly disappeared and thirteen mutilated unidentified bodies were recovered.
Earlier this week, forces raided a house in Mehi Mashkay and forcefully disappeared Yaqoob Murad, his brother Dil Jan Murad, his 2 sons Liaquat Yaqoob and Azizullah Yaqoob, and Gul Mohammad Raza. Enforced disappearance of civilians has become the order of the day but the government not only silently witnessing it but also relying on lies to shape the narratives of people which shows non-serious behavior of government.
The spokesperson appealed to the Federal and Provincial government to take steps to ensure the safety and security of minorities in the country.
