Baloch Human Rights Organization’s Chairperson Bibi Gul Baloch, during a press conference in Quetta Press Club, has issued monthly report of incidents of human rights violations taken place in Balochistan in the month of April. Bibi Gul Baloch said that the overall human rights situation of Balochistan is very critical. The continuity of the incidents of human rights violations have worsen the situation up to that extent that the families of missing persons are going through psychological torture. The families of missing persons are very concerned about the lives of their loved ones. This is a very serious situation from which people of Balochistan are passing through, but it is very sad to say that not a single voice was raised from anywhere against these incidents. The human rights and civil society organizations, despite of admitting media’s censorship, are relying on electronic media and one sided statements of forces. They are analyzing the situation on the basis of these statements which is turning a blind towards real issues intentionally. On the basis of reports, BHRO is receiving; in security and safety of people’s lives and settlements is the biggest issue categorically.
She further said that if the news of abductions of people couldn’t make it to media than this silence doesn’t mean that everything is fine. In the month of April 2017, Baloch Human Rights Organization (BHRO) received 120 cases of abductions. Most of them were abducted from their homes during operations but the original figure is greater than this as many areas of Balochistan are unreachable. In the month of April many women were also abducted by forces including 17 abducted women from Dera Bugti on April 1, 2017. The well-known Balochi film actor Waleed Nasir is also among the abductees, abducted on April 26, 2017 from Karachi. 24 people were also killed in the month of April in which 11 people were killed by forces and some of the
m were killed in custody and their bodies are dumped. Master Baitullah is among those who were killed in the custody of forces. He was a school teacher and was abducted on June 17, 2015 in front many eyewitnesses in daylight. Other than this, Habibullah’s mutilated body was recovered from Chakli, areas of Pasni on April 30, 2017. He is a resident of Pasni and a footballer who has been in the custody of forces for last 4 years. On April 27, 2017, 4 other missing persons’ mutilated bodies were also dumped along with body of Master Baitullah in a deserted area of Mand, District Kech in which Jasim s/o Rahim was abducted on January 4, 2017, Sabir s/o Ghulam Hussain was abducted on November 16, 2016, 22 year old Majid was abducted on February 2, 2017 and Asif s/o Anwar Ali was abducted on December 1, 2017. All of them have been in the custody of forces for months. The reason of murders of 8 other people is still to be found. BHRO has received reports of 29 people who were released in this month in which 16 people are those who were abducted from Hoshab, district Kech on April 16, 2017, and were released after few hours, whereas, most of them who are released were abducted in previous month.
Bibi Gul Baloch said that the continuity of chain of such incident is the proof that the forces still continues the policy of using force. The chain of appearing of mutilated bodies is continued for years. She said that the people have lost confidence on judiciary. There are thousands of such cases which were denied by police to file and people didn’t consult judiciary. In many cases families have stopped following the cases and in some cases, the victim’s mutilated body was dumped during the preceding of court. This entire situation is concerning and depressive for the inhabitants of Balochistan. In order to save people of Balochistan, all the responsible institutions should play their role.
