In the first 2 weeks of April 2019, nineteen people were forcibly disappeared by security forces in military campaigns across Balochistan while twenty-nine people were killed in different incidents.
On April 1, Pakistani forces abducted a total number of 9 people during a raid in Singabad, Tejaban area of district Kech. 7 were released but 2 others namely Rafeeq Ahmad and Ameer Bakhsh Zabad are still missing.
On April 5, forces started a search operation in Kohad area of Tump, district Kech and forcefully disappeared 7 civilians. The abductees were identified as Haibathan Abdi, Niaz Qadir Daad, Rashid Dilmurad, Mehran Rasool Bakhsh, Izzat Khursheed, Hameed Shahdad and Siddique.
Next day, on April 6, 3 went missing from different areas of Balochistan. Zahid Dost Muhammad, resident of Drachko area of Dasht, District Kech forcefully disappeared during a forces’ raid at Faqeer Colony of Gwadar, Asfand Yar Abdul Karim from Nushki while Sameer Nasrullah Notezai, 14, was abducted by unknown armed persons from Fasila Colony Dalbandin.
On April 7, forces stopped Gwahram Rostam on D-Baloch Road Turbat and after confirming his identity abducted him along with his car.
On April 8, Ehsanullah Raheem Bakhsh, an intermediate student was abducted by forces from Surap area Buleda in district Kech while Idrees Siddique, an oil trader, went missing from his garage in Chitkan Panjgur.
On April 9, Tariq Abdul Wahid was forcefully disappeared during a raid from Zoor Bazar Turbat.
Khalid Hussain son of Haji Mehmood was forcefully disappeared by forces from Sood Jahoo area of district Awaran. He has remained a victim of enforced disappearance and was held incommunicado for 18 months in a torture cell. He was released 2 months ago. On April 10, he was once again forcibly disappeared.
On April 13, eighteen years old student Zaheer Baloch was forcibly disappeared from Sehkani check post of Frontier Corps. He was returning home after his exams in Hoshap district Kech.
On April 4, Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) militants shot dead Ragu Dosto, a resident of Saggak Kolwa, district Awaran where a child was also killed. Later, BLF, in a statement, took responsibility for the attack and claimed that was an ex-militant and facilitated forces in military campaigns.
On April 6, unknown armed militants opened shot Azizullah in Chaman. Later, he was taken to the hospital but he succumbed to injuries.
On the same day, the decomposed dead body of 40 years old man Ghulam Rasul was recovered from Gaddani. He was a resident of Lasbela.
On April 7, Local death squads killed a member of BLF Sanaullah Shambay in Malikabad, Tump.
Separately, on the same day, Sabzal was shot dead during a skirmish between Baloch militants and Pakistani forces. According to Baloch militants, he was an agent of forces.
Moreover, the decomposed dead body of a 12 years old boy found dumped in Mashriqi Bypass area of Quetta. The body was shifted to the hospital for identification by Edhi Foundation but the reason behind his death remained unknown.
On April 10, another body was found in Chaghai. The deceased was moved to the hospital for medical examinations.
On April 12, a deadly bomb blast left at least 20 killed and 48 wounded in Hazar Ganji, Quetta. Most of the victims belonged to Hazar Community who are often attacked by religious extremists.
The other day, on April 13, 2 women were killed in Dera Murad Jamali in the name of honor.
On the brighter side, o April 5, Elahi Bakhsh Peerak, a resident of Hub was released after four years of illegal detention. He was abducted by forces in a raid on October 22, 2015.
On April 7, Tahir Sardo and Aziz Asad were released. Both were forcefully disappeared by forces during a military operation in Heronk, district Kech on November 2, 2018.
Akhtar Haji Murad Muhammad, Allah Bakhsh Nabi Bakhsh and Zahid Allah Bakhsh were released on 12 Apr 2019. They were abducted on 17 Sept 2018 during a raid by security forces from Sholi area of Dasht, district Kech.
