The representative of Baloch Human Rights Organization shows its concern about the numbers of casualties and abduction of people during operations and says that in Balochistan, State forces are violating human rights laws and values. The state has turned a blind eye towards its responsibilities to protect the lives and dignity of peoples. Abduction of political activists, civilians and incidents of appearing their mutilated dead bodies is continued with all its intensity.

On 4th October 2016, forces raided Gwarkop, a village of district Kech and abducted dozens of people. Some of them were later released while student leader Shabir Baloch along with 5 others is still missing. Next day on 5th October 2016, forces abducted 18 years old Latif s/o Allah Bakhsh along with 5 other people. On 15th October 2016, Latif Baloch was killed in custody and his mutilated body was found from Absor, a town of Turbat. He was a shepherd by profession.

Other than these incidents forces also abducted many people from Tump and Mand and set ablaze many houses. Such incidents are also happening in other parts of Balochistan.

From last three days forces are carrying out heavy military operations in different areas of district Qalat and Naseerabad and have abducted many innocent people while there are also some unconfirmed reports that many women have also been abducted. However the affected areas being far fledge and due to a lack of communication system further details are still to come.

Such operations by security forces are not only affecting civilians but also are a violation of State Constitution.

We appeal to Government authorities to instruct forces to stop abducting civilians and produce missing persons of Balochistan in front of any court of law.

Baloch Human Rights Organization

Human Rights Council of Balochistan (Hakkpaan) is a non-profit and non-partisan human rights group based in Balochistan and Sweden. It collects reports from Balochistan, a region Pakistan government does not allow any media and HR group to visit and report. Human rights violations in Balochistan is not a new phenomenon, but it got its worst levels after the Military coup de tat of Pakistan in 1999. Thousands of Baloch have been reported missing, hundreds killed in fake encounters and so-called kill and dump policy of the military. HRCB collects the data from Balochistan itself, through its network of volunteers and supporters, organizes and reports them to the human rights mechanisms of the world.
